Every year, on April 28, we celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work to raise awareness about the importance of creating safe and healthy working conditions for employees. This year's theme, "A Safe and Healthy Working Environment Is a Fundamental Principle and Right at Work," highlights the need for employers to take proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of their employees.
At K&A, we understand the importance of providing our employees with the tools, training, and resources they need to stay safe and healthy while on the job. We designed our comprehensive safety and health program to prevent accidents and injuries, protect employees from workplace hazards, and promote a safety culture by:
- Identifying workplace hazards by involving our people in conducting risk assessment, regular inspections of our project sites, facilities and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Implementing control measures to ensure hazards are adequately controlled and our employees' safety and health is protected.
- Implementing an emergency response plan to ensure our employees know what to do in an emergency, including evacuation procedures, first aid training, and communication protocols.
- Conducting regular safety training to educate our people on potential hazards in the workplace, how to prevent accidents and ensure all employees are up to date on safety protocols.
- Encouraging reporting of safety and health concerns from our employees so that we can address them promptly.
- Implementing a robust incident reporting and investigation process so that we prevent them from happening again.
