Esri Lebanon doubled the celebration this November as 2017 marked
its 10th anniversary. Around 150 attendees gathered on 21 November
2017 at Gefinor Rotana Hotel. On the agenda were a series of user
stories from the Lebanese Red Cross who presented their “ClinicGo”
Mobile app to Rafic Hariri High School GIS-based storymaps on the
Lebanese Republic Presidents.
In“ Massirat Watan”, the audience had the chance to learn from Mr.
Nadim Saaid on how he used mapping and GIS to track the path of
travelers of this initiative across Lebanon’s four borders.
Furthermore, UNICEF WAP Platform (WASH Assessment Platform) was
rolled out during one of the sessions; WAP is a collaborative GIS
and a live web-based prioritization and targeting approach for WASH
response to Informal Settlements.
Another trendsetting case study at the GIS Day was “Empowering
Municipalities”: Geo Apps developed for municipality staff use,
featuring a wide range of General, Touristic, Property, Billboards,
Tax and Survey Maps and Apps.
Six technical sessions were delivered by Esri, K&A and Esri Lebanon
teams. Hands-on Learning Lab, attended by more than 20 students, was
a great opportunity to learn more about ArcGIS® software and Esri®
solutions.
